About

I retired from RTI International as a Research Statistician on April 30, 2018. I will depart on August 13 to train and serve two years in the Peace Corps as a Secondary Math Teacher in Namibia. I will use this blog to document my Peace Corps service, my adventures, my highs and lows and also to keep in touch with my friends and family.

My best friend and husband of 30 years died last year of a fast growing cancer. He was gone within 3 weeks of the diagnosis. We both had children from our “starter” marriages and combined we have 5 children and 8 grandchildren.

I look at my upcoming Peace Corps service as a transition from this phase of my life to the next.
